There were 12 matches on the courts of the National Tennis Center Lielupe today, on 21st of July.
The Turkish Basak Eraydin defeats with straight sets the Russian Ksenia Aleshina – 6/1, 6/0 and proceeds to the final of the quallies where she will face Ulrikke Eikeri from Norway.
Daniela Visamane lost the first set to Ulrikke – 0/6, having the opportunity to take the second set back, but had to withdraw during the second set due to dizziness. The final score of the match is 0/6, 0/3.
The Serb Nina Stojanovic defeated Marina Melnikova from Russia – 6/4, 6/4 and sailed into next round of WTA Baltic Open 2019 where she will meet with Harmony Tan, who outplayed Jasmin Jebawy on 7th court – 6/2, 6/2.
In over-two-hours match the Argentinian Paula Ormaechea outplayed Dejana Radanovic from Serbia – 5/7, 6/1, 6/3. During the match Ormaechea converted 7 out of 11 possible breakpoints.
In another three-set match of the first day on courts of WTA Baltic Open 2019, the Polish tennis player Katarzyna Kawa and the representative of Kazakhstan Anna Danilina crossed the rackets. In a tense fight the victory was taken by the Polish tennis player - 6/4, 3/6, 7/6 (5). Next match Kawa will face Naiktha Bains in the fight for the right to proceed to the main draw of the tournament.
And the last match of the day, but not least of the tournament between Barbara Haas and Francesca Jones ended in 1 hour and 2 minutes. Haas fired an ace 3 times, while Jones aced only twice. The Austrian sails into next round of qualification – 6/2, 6/2.
