SEVASTOVA TO FACE POTAPOVA FOR FINALS


In an intense and emotional match, the Latvian Anastasija Sevastova in two sets broke the resistance of the Romanian Irina Bara - 7/6 (3), 6/2.

For 1 hour and 44 minutes, Anastasia Sevastova aced twice and saved 12 breakpoints out of 16, while Irina Bara didn't fire ace and saved only 2 out of 8 breakpoints.

The main fight came in the first set, which lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes. Both tennis players were able to win their serve only twice. Apart from the fact that the first set consisted of alternate return breaks, Irina Bara was unable to serve for the set: when the score was 5/4 and 6/5, which allowed Sevastova to move the game to a tie-break. At 3-3 on a tie-break, Irina Bara made a double fault, and then twice in a row lost her serve, which allowed the opponent to get ahead and win a set.

"At the end of the first set, my coach told me to stop talking and play, stay aggressive and go to the net. In the semifinals, I will meet with Potapova, we have already played with her this season. What I can say about her is that she is a young, upcoming tennis player who plays aggressively and without fear. I will have to play my game! "- commented Anastasija Sevastova on her victory.
